The Fender Telecaster Deluxe is a versatile electric guitar that can do it all. Chris Shiflett uses his when he's playing lead guitar with the hard-rocking Foo Fighters and when he's playing with the more country-oriented Dead Peasants. He customised his Tele Deluxe, so it's no surprise that Fender decided to honour him with his own signature model. To create the Chris Shiflett Telecaster Deluxe electric guitar, Fender took at close look at Shiflett's own model. They decided to produce it in Mexico, which means that you can get your hands on this signature electric guitar at a very reasonable price.

Chris Shiflett Signature Telecaster: construction

This special Tele shares many features with the original Tele Deluxe model such as the bullet-style truss rod and the Strat-style headstock. For a well-balanced sound, the body is made of alder with a maple neck and a rosewood fretboard. Alongside these classic specifications, there are a few modern features that offer improved playing comfort. The neck has a 12-inch radius, for instance, and there are 21 medium-jumbo frets. The special Shoreline Gold finish takes this guitar to another level visually too.

Powerful humbucker pickups

The original Tele Deluxe came complete with Fender Wide Range humbucker pickups, which provided more output and brightness than single-coils. Because his style and genre require a heavier sound, Chris Shiflett chose a set of these more traditional humbuckers for his signature Deluxe. Fender developed two special high-output versions, the CS1 at the bridge and the CS2 at the neck. Each pickup has its own volume and tone controls and using the 3-way pickup switch, you can select either pickup, or a combination of both.
