This affordable Mexican Fender was modelled after a '50s Strat. Its bright Fiesta Red finish takes you back to the era of big-finned big rides and Buddy Holly on tube radio. Vintage features of the Classic Series '50s Stratocaster
The '50s Stratocaster is characterised by its 21-fret one-piece maple neck and single-layer white pickguard. The back of the neck has a comfortable soft V-profile and its headstock is 100% vintage-correct. Like the original, the body has extra deep body contours and rounded edges. Additionally, the Classic Series '50s Stratocaster is equipped with a vintage-style tremolo bridge with six adjustable steel saddles and classic Kluson-type machine heads. The aged synthetic parts fully complete this Strat's vintage looks.
Three single coils for a wide range of guitar sounds
The Stratocaster's distinctive and versatile sound is mainly due to its three single-coil pickups that can be used separately or combined. Also, the Classic Series '50s Strat is equipped with alnico pickups, reproducing that unmistakeably fifties sound extremely well. Wat een mooie gitaar, wat een sound zeker als je een cleane sound zoekt wat helder.
Voor een zestiger met artrose in linker hand is dit lichtspelend gitaartje een verademing.
Ook de warme sound is geweldig, doet niet onder voor mijn telecaster en dan voor dit geld.
Een aanrader voor beginner of gevorderd gitarist.

Ik speel inmiddels 50 jaar gitaar. Dat komt dicht in de buurt van deze 50s Stratocaster.
Door de jaren heen heb ik veel elektrische gitaren gehad en Fender is altijd mijn favoriet geweest.
Deze gitaar is bijzonder goed. Hij speelt en klinkt geweldig en ziet er echt retro uit. Alles is leuk aan deze gitaar. Ik was erg benieuwd naar de "wat bolle" radius (7.25 inch). Akkoorden spelen gaat hiermee super. Bending van de noten wat minder, maar al deze informatie kom je overal op internet tegen. Deze gitaar is gewoon een "oer"-model. Dat geldt ook voor de V-neck (zeker geen overdreven V, die heel lekker vasthoudt) en de lage smalle frets. Alles is in perfecte balans. Met de vintage tuners van deze gitaar heb ik al jaren ervaring. Nieuwe snaren monteren gaat hiermee altijd nog het eenvoudigst, vind ik.
Al met al een gitaar waar ik heel blij van word. De pick-ups zijn ook heel goed. Clean klinkt de gitaar fantastisch. Ongelofelijk helder. De set-up was redelijk goed. Ik heb de schroeven van de tremolo iets aangedraaid waardoor de brug iets meer naar de body staat. De intonatie was helemaal zuiver.
Nog even iets over de kleur. Bax noemt Fiesta Red, "fel-rood". Maar het is niet echt een felrode brandweerkleur. Dus geen Torino Red, die Fender ook voert. Denk bij Fiesta Red toch wel aan een iets afwijkende kleur van het felrode. Ik vind het een heel stijlvolle retro kleur, mooi ook met de witte slagplaat ZONDER het zwarte accent.
Ik ben niet supergoed op mijn gitaar, maar deze in Mexico gebouwde gitaar doet, voor wat ik er mee kan, niet onder voor een USA-Strat. Ik heb jaren een USA Stratocaster gehad en die bleef nooit in tune.
Alles eindigt met het plezier. Wat speelt deze gitaar lekker en wat ziet hij er gaaf uit.
