With this Custom '62 Strat Journeyman Relic, the Fender Custom Shop brings you a Stratocaster with that iconic sound and look of the early 1960s. This Limited Edition Strat is constructed with a 2-piece body made of exclusive ash, a quarter-sawn maple neck and a flat-lam rosewood fingerboard. This gives you a balanced sound anyway with clear mids, strong basses and a tight, bright high. The subtly aged Journeyman Relic finish in black gives this electric guitar those authentic looks of a stylish sixties specimen with also the matching broken-in feel, while the gold closet classic hardware adds an elegant, vintage look. The neck has that comfortable '60s Oval C profile that starts thin at the nut and gradually becomes fuller towards the twelfth fret, providing an excellent playing experience.

Custom '62 Strat Journeyman Relic: robust low-end punch, sharp mids and bright highs

Inside the 3-ply black pickguard you'll find a set of 3 single-coil Custom Shop Hand-Wound Fat '64 Strat singlecoils, with an RWRP middle pickup against hum in positions 2 and 4 plus a reverse-angle bridge element for extra tight basses and warm trebles. However, the basic sound of each singlecoil always gives you a robust low-end punch, sharp mids and a bright high. Thanks to the Fat '50s 1/2 Blender wiring, the sounds of the bridge and neck pickups can be mixed as desired for extra sound variation. The Custom Shop Vintage Synchronised Tremolo gives you that familiar feel and tremolo bends of a classic 6-point vibrato bridge. With a slightly flatter 9.5-inch fingerboard radius and 21 modern jumbo frets, this Strat is perfect for bigger string bends and smooth legato runs, while the vintage-style tuning machines and bone top nut contribute to the tuning stability of this Custom Shop Custom '62 Strat Journeyman Relic.
