General

The Fender Custom Shop Limited Heavy Relic Mischief Maker is a remarkable guitar. Artificially aged by the Custom Shop, this guitar has the appeal of a vintage Fender, while still being a brand new instrument. A nice detail is the original 3-Color Sunburst finish that peeks out from under the Daphne Blue lacquer in places where the guitar is most 'damaged'. Furthermore, while it looks like a Strat, this guitar actually has a Telecaster neck, resulting in a unique hybrid guitar. Besides being a great electric guitar in its own right, this guitar is also a gorgeous piece of art, a collector's item and a great conversation piece.

Heavy Relic Mischief Maker: versatile sound

While the Limited Edition Mischief Maker might look and sound like a real vintage instrument, under the bonnet there is quite a bit of modern technology to be found. For instance, it features three hand-wound single-coil pickups, with the middle one being reverse-wound to reverse its polarity and counteract noise. Furthermore, it's fitted with the Greasebucket tone circuit that allows you to reduce highs without losing gain. Finally, for an ever wider range of sounds, the Mischief Maker is equipped with a Blender neck pickup control, that brings the total of pickup configurations up to 7.

Custom Shop Limited Edition

With its Limited Edition series, the Fender Custom Shop offers top-quality instruments for a very short period of time only. They are all highly desirable electric guitars or basses that have an authentic look and feel, and would be a great investment or addition to any musical instrument collection. These guitars possess many characteristics that are only found on Master-built instruments and certain exclusive Artist versions, making them very desirable works of art. Of course, all guitars in this series come with a case and a certificate of authenticity.

Once a year, the master luthiers in the Fender Custom Shop are allowed to go absolutely crazy, resulting in a Limited Edition Collection of very special guitars. As each of them is available in very limited qualities, these musical pieces of art are highly sought after, making them great investments. Of course, each model comes with a certificate of authenticity, a case and plenty of case candy.
