The year 2017 marks the 50-year anniversary of Jimi Hendrix's unforgettable performance at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967. To honour the occasion, Fender is offering the Limited Edition Jimi Hendrix Monterey Stratocaster! Jimi ended his spectacular performance by ritually burning his one-of-a-kind Strat, which he had decorated using nail polish and spray paint just before going on stage. Jimi's original Monterey Stratocaster may only exist on film and in videos, but Fender have brought it back to life with this limited-edition version! It even comes with a deluxe gig bag.
Jimi Hendrix Monterey Strat: authentic details
A trio of single-coils give this Strat its unmistakable classic Fender sound. The clear sound and long sustain make this guitar suitable for playing your own breathtaking solos. The neck has a convex 7.25-inch fretboard radius and 21 vintage-style frets which help make this 21st century Strat feel just like the original. The synchronised tremolo is ideal for playing dive bombs and other forms of sonic expression. Other authentic details include the vintage-style machine heads, the strap buttons, the tremolo arm and the double string guides. An added bonus is the authentic Hendrix neck plate that features an engraved portrait of the legend himself.
