In the past, Fender has always welcomed beginner guitarists to the family by offering several stylish entry-level guitars. There have been the Duo-Sonic, Mustang and Musicmaster models with their great sound, classic looks, reliable performance and affordable price tag. The Modern Player series builds on this 'my first Fender' tradition with Fender's most revered classic models, giving them a modern and slightly unconventional twist.

Fender Modern Player Telecaster Plus: unique classic

The Modern Player Telecaster plus, with its three pickups and pine body, is one of those rare birds among Telecasters: not only does it have a traditional Tele single coil near the neck but also a Strat style single coil in the middle position. It is near the bridge that you'll find the Modern Players fat humbucker for rougher guitaring. The humbucker can also be turned into a single-coil, for that tight and bright Telecaster twang. Just like the very first Telecaster (Esquire), this Modern Player Telecaster Plus has a pine body that is pleasantly lightweight and has a full sound with rich mids and tight bass sounds. The pine also has beautiful wood grain that is beautifully accentuated by the Honey Burst lacquer.

A real player with modern features

Despite its classic shape, the Fender Modern Player Telecaster Plus is a modern guitar. For instance, the maple neck has 22 large jumbo frets and a modern flat 9.5-inch fretboard radius, allowing for low action without making the strings hum. Additionally, the back of the body has a Strat style contour, which is a special slant that allows for more comfortable playing, whether you are sitting down or standing up. Because of the three pickups, the guitar is equipped with a five-position switch, which in combination with the master volume and tone control allows you to conjure up a wide array of different sounds. The bridge is a Strat-style hardtail with six adjustable saddles for optimal intonation and the strings-through-body design allows for more sustain and a more direct sound.
