General

With the Player II Stratocaster HSS, Fender lifts the popular Player Series to a higher level. This seriously adaptable Strat is a safe pick for guitarists who want that classic Fender appeal along with maximum tonal flexibility. In fact, the alder body has been armed with a set of newly developed pickups: an Alnico 2 bridge humbucker for heady rhythm parts and two Alnico 6 single-coils for crisp cleans and warm leads alike. On top of that, you're getting a modern two-point tremolo bridge so you can enhance your performance with subtle vibratos.

The Player II Stratocaster HSS: Other Upgrades

Compared to the first-generation Players, this model features various welcome upgrades, one of biggest being the maple neck, which now comes with rounded fretboard edges and a smooth satin-gloss finish. Add that to the twenty-two medium frets, the 9.5-inch fretboard radius and the set of ClassicGear tuners, and you get an instrument that feels instantly familiar, dependable and comfortable.
