The Telecaster was Fender's first solid body guitar. it was an enormous hit among guitarists in the '50s and is still one of the most used electric guitars because of its fierce, powerful tone and supple playability. Fender offers you an affordable version of this iconic classic with the Standard Telecaster. It was made in Mexico but delivers the same high-end performance as its big American brothers. This model features a 21-fret one-piece maple neck and a solid alder body in a beautiful brown Sunburst lacquer.

The Standard Telecaster: no-nonsense workhorse

From the clear and sparkling lead-guitar sound of the bridge pickup to a full but twangy sound of the neck pickup, a Telecaster will definitely pierce through any mix. The Standard Telecaster is equipped with two single-coil pickups that provide just a little more output than a classic Tele, adding extra punch and bite to its sound. On top of that, this guitar is a real workhorse. No fringes, just a single volume knob, one tone knob and a three-position pickup switch to alternate between the sound of the two pickups or a combination of both. Whether you play country, punk, rock or metal, there's no getting around a Telecaster.

Old and new combined

Despite the '70s style logo on its headstock and its distinctive classic shape, the Standard Telecaster has several modern features, such as fully shielded recesses for electronics and pickups that counter unwanted noise and that typical 50Hz hum. Also, the neck has a modern C profile, medium jumbo frets for easier string-pressing and high-quality self-lubricating machine heads. The vintage-style ash tray bridge has made room for a more modern bridge with six adjustable saddles for optimal tuning and intonation.
