Blink-182 fans will be doing their nut because Tom DeLonge is back at Fender. And for the first time since 2004, the iconic Fender Tom DeLonge Stratocaster makes its long overdue re-entry into the guitar-sphere - just in time for a reunion tour and the release of a new album that will mark the thirtieth anniversary of the American punk outfit that helped soundtrack the teenage years of many an early millennial. The original Fender Tom DeLonge Stratocaster was only in production between 1999 and 2004, so if you find one on the second hand market, you're looking at big money. But now, with its timely re-release, any die-hard fan can wrap their hands around this limited edition, one-off Strat. This model also features some sweet details, including a neck plate engraved with original DeLonge artwork and an oversized, seventies-style headstock.

The Fender Tom DeLonge Stratocaster: A Pure Rock Machine

As part of Blink-182, DeLonge proved that you didn't need much to write ear-worm-worthy songs and deliver memorable shows. As such, his signature model keeps things classic and simple: from the solid alder body to the single Seymour Duncan Invader dual-coil mounted at the bridge, which lays down a potent sonic foundation. This stripped back layout is coupled with a single volume pot that's planted far out of the way of the playing hand, while an integrated treble-bleed circuit ensures maximum clarity, even when the volume is dialled back. The playability of this Strat is, of course, just as on point thanks to the Modern-C neck profile, the added warmth of the rosewood fretboard and the lighter feel of the twenty-one medium-jumbo frets. Topped off with a fixed hardtail bridge with six block saddles and a string-through-body setup, this guitar also boasts solid tuning stability and precise intonation.
