For the sound of the Pacifica PACSP11S, Yamaha has chosen Reflectone pickups. A humbucker at the neck and a single coil at the bridge. This covers a wide sound spectrum: from warm, full leads to bright, sparkling clean sound. The 3-way element switch lets you choose between this wide range of sounds. Moreover, the tone knob also functions as a push/pull 'Focus Switch', giving some extra boost to your single-coil pickup.
