General

Many a famous guitarist has used the S-100 by Guild Guitars, a famous guitar manufacturer that's been producing guitars since 1952. The S-100 was produced for the first time in 1965 and continued to be made for 30 years after that. In 2013 it was reincarnated, and a few years later it was re-released with a sleek black finish. The chick dark version you see here is called the Guild S-100 Polara Black, and is an old-fashioned solid-body electric guitar with the classic SG shape.

S-100 Black neck, headstock and body

The S-100 Polara Black has a shorter scale length than the average electric guitar, measuring in at 24.75 inches (628 mm). As such, this is a particularly manageable instrument, and the tuning is particularly stable as well, thanks to the Grover Sta-Tite tuners. Double cutaways ensure that you can easily reach the highest frets, and classy details such as the black pickguard and classic headstock add to the vintage look of the S-100.

Mahogany and dual-coil

The comfortable bevelled body of the S-100 is made of mahogany, a wood type known for its strong, deep yet bright resonance. That means you can count on an outstanding core sound that's translated by two anti-hum dual-coil humbuckers. Via a 3-way pickup switch, two volume controls and two tone controls, you can determine the eventual timbre.

Guild S-100 Polara Black Electric Guitar

Wrote the following about Guild S-100 Polara Black Electric Guitar
