Precision-crafted in Japan, the Ibanez M8M is every inch a Meshuggah Signature model. This metal-focussed eight-string comes fully set up for demanding work and wields the power of a single humbucker loadout. The solid alder body features two deep cutaways and a neck-through construction, where the maple and jatoba neck extends to the base of the body, not only improving sonic resonance, but granting full access to every last one of the twenty-four jumbo frets - each of which has been polished off with Ibanez's own Prestige fret-edge treatment for an ultra-smooth feel. Dipped in matte black, complete with a colour-matched headstock, and wiped clean of any binding or a pickguard, this is one tight and focussed, no-nonsense machine.

A Single Lundgren M8 Pickup

A pretty unique detail is the single lonely pickup resolutely planted at the bridge. But since that lonely pickup is a Lundgren M8 humbucker, you can still expect fat and formidable sound that can be varied at will via the mounted volume and tone pots. The bridge, meanwhile, is an eight-saddle, fixed version of the Edge III Double-Locking Tremolo bridge and has been coupled with a 29.4 inch scale length, ensuring even tension across the eight strings and retaining full definition within the lower registers.
