Every so often, the Japanese brand Ibanez comes up with a special edition of one of their regular guitar models. This Limited Edition RG652AHM-NGB belongs to the Prestige series and was built with great craftsmanship from high-quality wood types. The result is a high-end guitar specifically engineered to deliver incredible sound and performance. The Ibanez RG652AHM comes with a case and features an ash body and unique Nebula Green Burst top and a birds eye maple fretboard, which is a premier for Ibanez.
Ibanez RG652AHM: prestigious features
The Ibanez RG has been a popular model since the eighties and is known for its deep double cutaways that provide optimal access to the highest frets on the neck. This limited-edition RG652AHM has an ash body with a natural lacquer finish and a striking Nebula Green Burst top. The 5-piece neck is made of walnut and maple and boasts an attractive birds eye maple fretboard. The Ibanez Super Wizard HP profile neck facilitates smooth, fast playing and its 24 jumbo frets have been given a Prestige treatment.
Edge tremolo and DiMarzio pickups
The RG652AHM features the legendary Ibanez Edge double-locking tremolo, which was preferred by guitar heroes like Joe Satriani and Steve Vai. make extreme dive bombs without worrying about detuning. This guitar has DiMarzio pickups; an Air Norton humbucker at the neck for a warm, defined sound with plenty of output and a Tone Zone high-output humbucker with a deep, dynamic tone and rounded trebles at the bridge. This guitar was built for shredders!

Het conto Ibanez gitaren staat nu dus op 3 en deze Nebula Green is een droom qua breedte in toon. Fretbord zo comfortabel als een 1e-klaszitje.
Tremelo heeft meer ruimte als mijn Iron Label en is vernuftig qua design.
Ik hou het kort, dit is een opname binnen het eerste uur van ontvangst. Daarin de gevoeligheid van de tremelo, beide humbuckers aan en op Laney IRT Studio amp op cleane stand met reverb.

Verder bestel ik altijd mijn spulletjes hier en steek ik altijd wat voor de kids bij m'n bestelling mocht het een tip zijn.

In eerste instantie wist ik niet wat ik er nou van vond totdat ik dit pareltje bespeelde..
De neck is zijdezacht en lekker dun, je speelt er sneller op dan je denkt te kunnen spelen. De tremolo is inderdaad een stuk preciezer en fijner in gebruik dan de Edge Zero II tremolo- die overigens ook al niet verkeerd is.
De pickups zorgen voor een diep, vol geluid met voldoende highs. Geweldig voor zowel clean als overdriven sound.
De gitaar is geweldig afgewerkt. Alles is pico bello, de finish, de neck, het fretboard, alles. Normaliter zou ik nooit voor een gitaar met maple fretboard gaan, maar deze birdseye maple heeft een bepaalde charme die me inspireert om te spelen. Het enige wat me echt verbaasde qua looks was dat de binding fel geel is, niet ivoor geel. Moet ik nog aan wennen.
Niet dat ik deze schoonheid daar ooit voor op zou geven!
Ik heb naast deze Prestige Ibanez RG ook een Premium Ibanez RG. De Premium kwam uit de hoogste prijsklasse van de Premium line, dus vroeg ik me af wat de verschillen zouden zijn tussen deze en de Prestige RG.
De Premium RG was al van goede kwaliteit, maar deze Prestige RG overtrof dat. Het speelcomfort ligt hoger door de fijne zachte neck. De tremolo kan niet veel beter worden dan deze. De volume knop reageert preciezer dan die van de Premium, en de algemene afwerking is gewoon beter.
Zo zijn de sidedots van de Premium niet goed afgewerkt en zitten er lelijke plekken rondom de zijkant van het fretboard (niet extreem opvallend en het belemmerd het spel niet, maar toch). Er is letterlijk niks mis met de Prestige.

Zeer tevreden mee, geweldige speelbeerheid, klinkt goed en is goed afgewerkt.
