With the Premium series, Ibanez offers you the looks and quality of the high-end Prestige and J. Custom series, at a price not that much higher than that of a standard model. The Ibanez RG721RW Premium is a luxurious RG with various striking details. For instance, this mean machine was equipped with a beautiful rosewood top with cream-coloured bindings along the side and elegant brown, pearloid inlays. The sides and back of the body have a Charcoal Brown Flat finish. Including Ibanez Premium softcase.
Ibanez RG721RW Premium: first-grade construction
For the Premium edition of the iconic RG, Ibanez used only the best materials. As such, the body is made of American basswood and the neck is made up of five parts of maple and walnut wood for extra strength. The rosewood fretboard has a flat radius of 300 mm, which is ideal for shredding guitarists. The first 24 frets have had the Premium treatment which means their ends were filed and polished until they were ultra smooth for maximum playing comfort.
Pickups and hardware
The electronics of the Ibanez RG721RW include two CAP-VM humbuckers, a volume and tone control plus a 5-way pickup switch that provides you with a wide range of versatile sounds. As the two pickups have Alnico magnets, they sound warm and rich. The guitar has a Tight-End R bridge, designed specifically for this instrument, and has extra mass and is firmly screwed into the body. This results in a tight, direct tone and lots of sustain. Moreover, the low, smooth profile gives you great playing comfort during palm mutes.

De mijne heeft echter wel een heel klein bobbeltje in de rosewood top zitten. Het is wel zo klein dat ik het niet eens goed op de foto kan krijgen.
Het belangrijkste: de gitaar speelt super. Erg "snelle" hals. Veel sustain en je voelt de vibraties door de hele gitaar heen, erg fijn! De noten zingen ook echt, als je snapt wat ik bedoel ;) Geen dode plank dus.
Misschien zou ik wat later nog eens een pickup omwisselen, maar de gitaar zelf is top.

Vier sterren, ik ben nu eenmaal verknocht aan LP's. Maar deze gitaar biedt zeker een oplossing als het om snel shredden gaat!!
