The neck-through construction boosts the sustain and playing comfort, while the 5-piece maple-and-walnut neck, nyatoh body and jatoba fretboard lay down a forceful, mid-range-rich core sound framed by crisp trebles — perfect for tight rhythms and dynamic leads.
The RGRT420: Quantum Pickups
The pair of Quantum humbuckers ensure the fast bass response needed for high-speed staccato riffs, supported by a crushing mid-range and accurate high-end articulation. These double-coil pickups can effortlessly take on styles like rock and heavy metal, and come wired up to a 5-way pickup switch, giving you ample voicings to choose from — from classic humbucker and parallel-connected humbucker tone to single-coil sound.
A Slick Workhorse for Intense Riffing
The Ibanez RGRT420 has been built for a fast and comfy feel, as evidenced by the Wizard III neck profile, smooth satin-gloss finish, jumbo frets and 15.75" fretboard radius. Add that to the rock-solid, black-painted hardware, the tight-and-modern contouring and the brilliantly-stable Edge-Zero II tremolo bridge, and you get a stage-worthy six-string axe made for aggressive riffs, extreme dive-bombs and souped-up solos.
