General

Innovative yet timeless, that's the Ibanez Talman TM1702M in a nutshell. It features the instantly recognisable Talman body, as well as various features that nod to classic ST and TE models. What's more, the TM1702M is part of the Prestige line, which means it's made up of only the highest quality components. Moreover, no Prestige guitar leaves the factory without first undergoing a thorough inspection. In short, this guitar offers affordable top quality from Japan in a vintage wrapper.

Golden oldies

As far as wood-types go, the TM1702 follows the tried-and-true recipe of an alder body with a maple neck - a combination that guarantees a balanced and rich core sound. In this case, the neck features a maple fretboard that gives a bit more sparkle to the trebles. Both the bridge and the pickup configuration are a clear nod to the American TE models. The tone controls, jack-plate and pickup-switch, meanwhile, reference the famous ST-style guitars. This classic styling is further reinforced by the gorgeous sunburst finish.

Modern-day performance

Of course, Ibanez wouldn't be the company they are today if they clung to the past too much. So luckily, there are plenty of modern touches to the TM7102M. For instance, there's the Fast Access Heel, which allows for a smooth transition between neck and body. Furthermore, the shape of the headstock is also no accident: on closer inspection, you'll see that the strings run from the tuners to the string nut and beyond in a straight line. Not only does that help improve tuning stability, it also makes performing string bends much easier. Finally, the two Seymour Duncan Alnico single-coils provide that classic twang with minimal noise and optimal power!

Ibanez Talman TM1702M Prestige Tri Fade Burst

Ik heb deze gitaar nu zowat een jaar. Van de twee dozijn gitaren die ik in l'n leven heb gehad (ben 58) heeft deze de meest comfortabele nek. Daarnaast great tuners, very good sound en perfecte afwerking. Eindelijk een tele-style gitaar met 3L + 3R tuners (hate 6 in a row tuners). Een Ibanez Prestige gitaar voor een redelijke prijs. Ben er nog steeds zeer blij mee.
