General
Some people think that you should start learning to play the guitar on an acoustic guitar. Sure, there may be some advantages to that method, but the most important thing is that you have fun while learning. So if you want to play metal, then you should play metal! With that in mind, Jackson decided to create the tough-looking JS1X Rhoads Minion, with its sleek Satin Black finish. The Minion series features guitars that are quite a bit smaller than usual. They even feature a rather short 22.5" scale length, meaning the frets are closer together, which is ideal for beginners and children (ages 8 - 12). Even adults will find plenty to like about these small shredders, as their compact size makes them easy to take with you on your travels.
JS1X Minion: construction
With the Rhoads Minion, Jackson proves that a beginner guitar doesn't have to be boring. The JS 1X's body is about a third smaller than that of a regular Rhoads guitar, but it offers just as much bang for your buck. While the points of a V-shape guitar are quite damage-prone, this Minion features a highly durable poplar body, so you won't have to worry. Furthermore, this wood type offers a balanced tone that is excellently suited for rock and metal. For added stability, the neck was reinforced with graphite. Furthermore, in order to evenly distribute the tension on the strings, the headstock is angled backwards - just like it is on more expensive Jackson models. Finally, two high-output humbuckers provide that powerful Jackson tone.
Jackson Guitars JS Series
The renowned American Jackson Guitars was founded by Grover Jackson in 1980 and gained fame with their V guitar for Randy Rhoads. These days, many famous guitarists play a Jackson guitar. Generally speaking, Jackson guitars have an elegant shape, a sharp headstock, sharkfin position markers and a powerful sound that's great for metal and hard rock. The JS series comprises several affordable models for beginner guitarists.
