The Jackson Guitars KEXTMG Kelly Ivory is a guitar with an attitude, made especially for metal, hard rock and similar genres. Its sharp and sleek design and the shark fin inlays make clear that this solid body is made for guitarists who are not interested in subtle nuances. This KEXTMG is fitted with a Jackson Tune-O-Matic strings-through bridge without tremolo. There are many guitarists that don't need a tremolo. After all, they don't run the risk of detuning all the strings after one breaks as the Floyd Rose bridge doesn't compensate the tractive force.
The sound of the Jackson Guitars KEXTMG Kelly Ivory
A Jackson is known for its low and mid tones, which is perfect when it comes to shredding. For this, the basswood body gets all the credits. The neck of this model is made of maple, which provides sparkly trebles and a long sustain. The fretboard is made of rosewood, a type of wood with warm sound characteristics that allows for smooth sliding along the neck.
Pickups
The pickups give the guitar sound a specific colour and are indispensable on a solid body. This model features two EMG humbuckers, at the bridge and at the neck. By means of a switch you can choose a pickup configuration: bridge, bridge-neck or neck. When picking the right configuration, your lead or power chord will sound amazing.
