General

The Jackson PDX-2 is an affordable version of the Phil Demmel Artist Signature Demmelition. It is perfect for fans of metal and Machine Head who are looking for a stunning guitar of excellent quality. The extras of this King V are further accentuated by the silver edges on the otherwise black finish. You don't have to worry about the sound either, as the two EMG humbuckers on this guitar ensure a tight, sharp tone that is perfect for hard rock and metal. Additionally, you can go all out with wild tremolo effects without the guitar ever falling out of tune thanks to the double-locking Floyd Rose Special bridge's excellent tuning stability. In short, this is an extraordinary guitar that won't break the bank.

PDX-2 Demmelition: compound-radius fretboard

The fretboard of the Jackson PDX-2 has what is known as a compound radius - just like most high-end Jackson models. Close to the string nut, the fretboard is relatively convex (12-inch radius), but the closer you get to the bridge, it gradually flattens (16-inch radius). The result is that both barre and open chords are comfortable to play. Higher up, you can effortlessly bend the strings, even at low action, without annoying rattle or notes that are cut short. What's more, the neck runs all the way through the body (neck-through), ensuring extra sustain and unlimited access to the higher frets for delectably screaming solos.

Jackson Guitars

The renowned American Jackson Guitars was founded by Grover Jackson in 1980 and gained fame with their V guitar for Randy Rhoads. These days, many famous guitarists play a Jackson guitar. Generally speaking, Jackson guitars have an elegant shape, a sharp headstock, sharkfin position markers and a powerful sound that's great for metal and hard rock. The X series offers affordable versions of Jackson's most popular guitars.
