With the X Series, Jackson offers affordable versions of its most popular guitar models, including the Soloist. The Soloist SLX has the same looks, sound and feel of an original American Soloist but not the same price tag as it comes at a much lower price. This model has a characteristic neck-through-body construction which means that the neck runs through the entire length of the body. Thanks to the extra deep, streamlined cutaway you can easily reach the highest positions for your solos. The Soloist SLX is available in three colours, including this Metallic Red.
Jackson Soloist SLX Metallic Red: metal beast
The Soloist SLX is equipped with two powerful humbucker pickups, designed by Seymour Duncan. They are highly versatile, for crystal-clear cleans as well as the fattest distortions. Thanks to the maple neck and basswood body, the guitar's sound remains tight and defined. The neck has been reinforced with two graphite truss rods for maximal stability and strength. Just like its big brother, the Soloist SLX also has a fretboard with shark fin inlays and white bindings. Thanks to the Floyd Rose Special bridge, the guitar remains perfectly in tune, even after the wildest vibrato and whammy effects.
Compound-radius fretboard
The fretboard of the Soloist SLX has a compound radius, just like the more expensive Jacksons. This means that the fretboard is rather round at the lower positions (12 inches) but flattens towards the body to 16 inches. As a result, you can comfortably play barre chords and open chords on the lower positions of the neck. You’ll also find that, even with a super low action, you’ll still be able to bend the strings at higher positions easily without any buzzing or loss of notes.
