General
The Schecter Damien Platinum-7 Satin Black LH is a powerful 7-string electric guitar for guitarists seeking an exceptionally wide tonal range and a striking appearance. The mahogany body, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard form a solid foundation, whilst the Satin Black finish is combined with Satin Chrome hardware and striking bat inlays. Thanks to the glued-in neck construction with Ultra Access, the guitar is comfortable to play, even in the higher positions. The 26.5-inch scale length and 48 mm-wide nut are tailored to the seven strings.
Active EMG pickups
For its sound, the Damien Platinum-7 relies on an active EMG 81-7 in the bridge position and an active EMG 85-7 in the neck position. This combination delivers a powerful, tight and detailed sound that really comes into its own with heavy music styles such as metal and rock. The 24 X-Jumbo frets also offer plenty of room for fast riffs, solos and bends. The Thin C neck ensures a relatively slim playing feel. The Tune-O-Matic bridge with String Thru Body provides stable string anchoring and a direct response.
Finish and hardware
The finish on this left-handed model is completed with Grover tuners and Satin Chrome hardware. The guitar is strung with Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 7 #2621 strings in gauges .010–.056, suitable for the 7-string configuration. The model bears model number 1186. A matching case is not included, but the Schecter SCSGR-UNIV1 is available separately. This makes the Damien Platinum-7 a striking choice for left-handed guitarists who want to combine an aggressive look with active EMG pickups and an extended range.
