Product information

General

The Schecter Damien Platinum-8 combines a striking appearance with a sturdy, modern construction. The Satin Black finish, Satin Chrome hardware and distinctive bat inlays give this 8-string guitar a striking appearance. The body is made from mahogany and is paired with a maple neck featuring a glued-in construction and Ultra Access. The rosewood fingerboard and Thin C neck profile ensure a comfortable playing experience, whilst the 24 X-Jumbo frets provide ample space for technical playing and heavy riffs.

Active EMG pickups

For amplification, the Damien Platinum-8 is fitted with two active EMG 808 humbuckers: one in the bridge position and one in the neck position. This combination is particularly well-suited to modern, powerful guitar tones and complements the extended range of an 8-string guitar perfectly. The 28-inch (711 mm) scale length ensures tight string tension, even in the lower tunings for which an 8-string guitar is often used. The 54 mm-wide nut provides ample space for all eight strings.

Robust hardware and playability

The Schecter Custom Hardtail bridge with String Thru Body ensures stable string guidance and direct transmission of string vibration to the body. The Grover tuners ensure reliable tuning, whilst the Satin Chrome hardware complements the matt black finish beautifully. The guitar comes factory-fitted with Ernie Ball 8-String Skinny Top Heavy Bottom #2624 strings in gauges from .009 to .080. A matching SCSGR-1C case is available separately.
