That unmistakable classic Strat sound and body shape but with a unique, modern twist and a fixed, hard-tail bridge: the Squier Contemporary Stratocaster Special HT. Three slanted Squier SQR Alnico single-coils come mounted, but the mid-pickup has been shifted down and nestled up next to the bridge pickup, building a thick, humbucker style foundation sound when they're placed in series in position 1. Flip the selector switch into position 3, and the middle and neck pickups are placed in parallel, then shift up to position 4 and unleash all three pickups at once.

The Contemporary Stratocaster Special HT with Fixed Bridge

Since this is the HT edition, it comes mounted with a fixed hard-tail bridge with six adjustable block saddles and a string-through-body construction which not only contributes stable tuning but excellent resonance. The roasted maple neck has a beautifully aged look while lifting the stability even further and has been finished with the tight and comfortable feel of a C-profile; a coat of smooth satin-gloss lacquer; and a slightly-flatter 12" fretboard radius and 22 jumbo frets for eased grip. In terms of aesthetics, the Contemporary Strat brings it hard with a black pickguard and matching black headstock.
