General
The Squier Vintage Modified Stratocaster HSS was modelled after the famous Fender Stratocaster. Vintage means that this attractively-priced black electric guitar is equipped with a vintage-tint neck, large '70s-style headstock and vintage-style hardware. HSS is short for humbucker, single coil, single coil, meaning that this is a Fat Strat, where one of the three clear-sounding single-coil pickups has been replaced with a rich and full sounding, hum-reducing humbucker.
The legendary Stratocaster
The Stratocaster is Fender's most legendary guitar model and is equipped with three pickups. The Strat is a very versatile guitar thanks to its wide tonal range and its capability to produce vibrato effects with the tremolo bridge. The Duncan humbucker gives this Squier Vintage Modified Stratocaster HSS plenty of power as well.
The Squier brand
The Precision and Jazz electric bass guitars and the Stratocaster and Telecaster electric guitars are the most famous Fender models. Many manufacturers have imitated these instruments, with varying quality. In 1982, Fender started a subsidiary to provide their own alternative for starting/amateur guitarists.
