General

The Revstar series may be Yamaha's first new guitar range in 20 years, but that hasn't stopped them from going for a classic appearance. The RS620 actually looks very similar to the 1974 Super Flighter. This electric guitar was also inspired by the XS650 racing motorbikes and this model has a Brick Burst finish and comes with a gig bag. The combination of retro and modern means the RS620 has a stylish, comfortable body and neck as well as features like specially-designed VH5 alnico humbuckers and a dry-switch that works like a lo-cut filter.

Revstar RS620: not your dad's guitar!

Despite its vintage design, this is not your dad's guitar! It has a flamed maple top with a hand-brushed satin (steel wool) finish which contrasts beautifully with the matte gloss nickel finish on the hardware. The customised wraparound bridge is easy to adjust and the double cutaways on the body add to this model's playing comfort making it a joy to play. The rosewood fretboard and mother-of-pearl block position markers are other notable features.

Versatile sound

The VH5 humbuckers ensure a full sound and thanks to the thick copper coils its easy to nail a vintage tone too. We've already mentioned the dry-switch that works like a lo-cut filter and this means the humbuckers can also sound like single-coil pickups giving you even more versatility. What's more, you won't experience any self noise that you sometimes get with a split pickup configuration.
