A sharper-priced variant of the iconic Gibson J-180, the Epiphone Modern Collection J-180 LS electro-acoustic guitar is based on the same model that found itself the hands of many a legendary guitarist across a spectrum of different genres. Fans include the Everly Brothers, Cat Stevens, Dwight Yoakam and Billie Joe Armstrong and, anyone who got to see The Eras Tour might have noticed Taylor Swift strumming one of these stone-cold classics. In short: the Epiphone J-180 LS gives you the same shimmering acoustic sound as some of the biggest names - and a sweet bonus, this stunner of a guitar comes including a deluxe Epiphone case stamped with the Epiphone inspired by Gibson Custom logo and complete with a purple-lined interior.
The Epiphone Modern Collection J-180 LS: Impressive Sound
The larger jumbo body of the Epiphone J-180 LS starts with a solid spruce soundboard, which has been thermally aged to give this model a fully matured and played in sound the moment it leaves the workshop. This is supported by a solid mahogany back and solid mahogany sides, completing a timeless wood combo that guarantees a strong, richly resonant, deep and versatile acoustic sound. Couple that magic recipe with the big, rounded body and you're also getting plenty of volume - which is exactly why this model is so loved for its strummed sound.
A High-Grade Finish
The J-180 LS has definitely been designed to support performing and recording artists, so it comes kitted out with a high-spec L.R. Baggs VTC active piezo pickup system that can be directly connected to an acoustic amplifier, PA system or audio interface. As a neat detail, the volume and tone control pots have been discretely tucked away inside the soundhole and, since aesthetics are almost as important as the sound, the Indian laurel fretboard has been adorned with a set of mother-of-pearl star-shaped position markers and the body has been outlined in three-ply binding to strike a satisfying contrast with the flat paint-job. The cherry on top has to be the set of nickel-plated Epiphone Deluxe machine heads, which come finished with vintage-grade keystone tuning buttons.

Sur le plan accoustique je suis très satisfait car elle a une belle projection sonore, de belles harmoniques et un manche agréable à jouer mais étroit; le jeu au médiator est préférable car elle est livrée avec un jeu gibson médium ; je le changerai pour des d'addario exp light.En conclusion, très bel instrument qui vous met la tète dans les étoiles, donc je recommande cette jumbo moins volumineuse que la J 200 mais déjà très attachante.
