General

Mahogany sounds different from spruce or cedar. Warmer, fuller, with a rich depth in the low mids that is immediately noticeable when you strike your first chords! The Guild D-20E Vintage Sunburst is built entirely around that character: with solid African mahogany for the top, sides and back, so that each component contributes to the same warm, cohesive sound. Complemented by a vintage sunburst satin nitro lacquer that allows the wood to vibrate freely and highlights the natural markings of the dark mahogany. Which gives the Guild D-20E a vintage and used feel. The dreadnought shape further reinforces this: broad shoulders and a spacious body ensure solid lows, punchy mids and enough projection to fill an entire room, acoustic or amplified!

Plug-in without compromise

The built-in L.R. Baggs Element VTC does something that many undersaddle pickups fail to do, it measures the movement of the top instead of the string pressure. That means you hear the full, balanced acoustic sound when you plug it in, without the typical sharp edge that some element systems can create. The volume and tone controls sit just out of sight under the rim of the sound hole, preserving the guitar's clean look while still allowing you to adjust your tone quickly and within easy reach. The built-in low-end compressor dampens excess low frequencies and reduces feedback at higher volumes. Very handy for the stage! Your instrument deserves the right protection and Guild has thought of that. With the included Guild Deluxe hardshell case with built-in humidification, you protect your guitar during transport or storage and keep the moisture of the wood consistent. In short: the Guild D-20E is a high-quality dreadnought that combines luxurious looks, versatile sound and refined finish into an instrument you buy for life!
