General
The Guild F-40E Standard Natural is an all-solid western guitar handmade in the US. The projection and deep sound of the jumbo size have made it loved by country and folk guitarists for decades. The top is Sitka spruce which sounds bright and carries far. This is what gives the F-40E a lively and responsive character. Guild has balanced this with a side and back of African mahogany, which enhances the low mids and gives extra warmth. The large jumbo shape adds resonance space that opens up the sound in a way that smaller sizes cannot offer. The instrument plays comfortably and feels natural in the hand, thanks in part to the C-profile mahogany neck and high-quality Indian rosewood fingerboard. The Guild F-40E Standard is complemented by a premium pickup system: the L.R. Baggs Element VTC. So you get a comfortable and versatile western guitar that is at ease in numerous situations!
Authentic in looks and amplification
The volume and tone controls are subtly incorporated in the edge of the sound hole, thus avoiding unsightly preamp plates on top that can regularly get in the way. And, of course, detracts from the guitar's clean look. The L.R. Baggs Element measures the vibrations of the top instead of the string pressure like many under-saddle elements. That sounds technical, but the practical difference is huge: no tinny or thin piezo sound, but the authentic acoustic sound of the guitar itself. And combined with a built-in low-end compressor, you avoid those boomy frequencies and feedback that kill your sound. The whole thing is finished in a glossy natural vintage finish, giving the guitar a played look. As icing on the cake, it comes with a hardshell case with a built-in humidification system, because Guild knows that your instrument deserves appropriate protection! The Guild F-40E Standard is a premium instrument with an authentic sound, look and playing comfort that you can't help but love!
