General

This Celebrity Standard Plus electric-acoustic immediately shows why Ovation occupies such a unique corner of the guitar world. Not only because of the characteristic convex back, for which Ovation is known, but also because of the way the Lyrachord body shapes the sound. Clear in the highs, tight in the lows and nicely 'in your face'. The top of this western guitar, made of selected top wood, works together with the special X-bracing. This profiled bracing efficiently distributes vibrations across the top, improving its resonance and making the guitar sound open and controlled. Combined with the cutaway, smooth-playing Nato neck and Ovangkol fingerboard, this Ovation is very comfortable to play high on the fingerboard.

The best of both worlds

The practical thing about electric-acoustic guitars is that you get the best of both worlds. Both the natural sound and intimate character of an acoustic guitar and the flexibility of an amplified guitar. So are you short on volume? No problem. Amplified, the Celebrity Standard Plus is as convincing as acoustic. The CP-100 Slimline pickup picks up your attack in detail and the OP-4CT preamp gives you utmost control via gain, bass, middle and treble controls. And what would a guitarist do without a tuner? Ovation has thought of that too with a handy built-in tuner, making quick tuning a breeze! Besides the striking body shape, the beautiful Cognac Sunburst Gloss finish gives this guitar that unique look. As does the abalone accent inlay, at the rosette. Ovation so subtly shows that this is a premium model. All in all, the Ovation Celebrity Standard Plus is a guitar with a unique character, designed to switch effortlessly between acoustic and electric work.
