A direct ancestor of a pure rock and country legend, the Studio edition of the Epiphone Hummingbird is not only affordable but fully electro-acoustic. This gig-ready guitar comes coated in a sweet Faded Cherry Burst paint-job and finished with an iconic hummingbird-engraved pickguard, and thanks to a solid spruce soundboard, bears a lush and bright foundation sound backed up by plenty of projection.
The Epiphone Hummingbird Studio: Acoustic & Electric
While the mahogany body and neck take care of the volume and round off the sound, the pau ferro fretboard adds an extra dose of warmth, all of which can be amplified with faithful clarity via the integrated Fishman Sonicore preamp and Sonicore piezo pickup. Bound for the stage, this more budget-friendly edition of an absolute classic serves as a more-than solid writing and performing partner.

Aanvankelijk kocht ik deze Epiphone Hummingbird voor een neef, omdat hij met een redelijk bespeelbare, niet al te dure zijn gitaarspel weer op wilde nemen.Toen ik deze gitaar afgeleverd kreeg, heel mooi binnen de afgesproken tijd,hem vervolgens gefinetuned heb o.a de action was ik zo verbaasd over, niet alleen het prachtige uiterlijk van dit instrument, maar meer nog van zijn fantastische geluid, dat ik er zelf óók één heb besteld en inmiddels speelklaar heb. Een geweldige aankoop en ik zou veel mensen willen aanraden deze gitaar aan te schaffen. Dit is inmiddels mijn 18e gitaar, waaronder ook een Epiphone Texan Masterbuilt met een geweldige sound en het is een waardevolle aanvulling. Voor een gitaar, tussen budget en midrange dus een perfecte aanrader.

Hele mooie gitaar, met de “hummingbird” op de gitaar een heldere klank is er ook. Gitaar voelt lichter dan verwacht dus dat was wel fijn. Verder heeft het een prachtige kleur mooie afwerking van de nek. De rest kom je mooi vanzelf achter 😉. Ik raad dit zeker aan

Prachtige gitaar met een mooie volle warme klank. Speelt lekker soepel en ligt goed in de hand.
Het jammere is dat de batterij los aan een 'draadje' in de kast hangt te bungelen, wat een nogal storend geluid geeft als je speelt. Ook dat de toonregeling en volume knop 'binnen in de kast zit' vind ik nogal storend.
Maar: al met al, een prima gitaar...!!!

Mooie gitaar, vier maanden geleden besteld ook voor een hogere prijs, vier maanden gewacht en eindelijk heb ik hem kunnen ophalen….. zie ik nu nadat ik hem thuis heb uitgepakt dat er toch een batterij in de gitaar moet om hem te kunnen spelen via een versterker. Die batterij zat er niet bij dus heb ik die gekocht. Nadat ik die heb aangesloten blijft die batterij bungelen in de gitaarkast, hij bungelt en tikt tegen de kast aan. Wat bizar om op deze manier te moeten spelen.. Ik ga er een melding van maken er ontbreekt vast iets aan deze constructie. (?)

Prachtige gitaar, en nagenoeg identiek aan zijn roemruchte voorbeeld, de Humminbird van Gibson.
Ons exemplaar had wel een rammeltje in de klankkast. Het fishman element klikte niet goed vast zo bleek later. En de kam was op 1 punt niet goed vlak, hetgeen al een snaar kostte na een paar uur. Dit was echter allemaal eenvoudig te verhelpen, rest ons niets verder dan te genieten van de warme klanken.

Een fijne gitaar met een mooie warme klank. Hij speelt makkelijk en hij voelt aan alsof ik hem al jaren heb.
Bovendien ziet ie er prachtig uit.
De afwerking van de Hummingbird is buitengewoon goed.
De Hummingbird houdt de stemming heel goed vast.
Echt een topgitaar, zeker voor deze prijs.

ik heb deze gitaar nu 1 jaar en tot nu toe heb ik nog geen minpunten gevonden. De gitaar klinkt bijna net zo goed als de Gibson variant. Wel is het aan te raden om regelmatig de snaren te vervangen, anders gaat de gitaar een stuk minder mooi klinken. zelf gebruik ik de gitaar in combinatie met de Marshall AS50-d.

Ik heb deze gitaar nu al enkele jaren in mijn bezit, en vanaf het begin speelt ie geweldig. Mooie klank, goed formaat, en zeker voor deze prijs een hele goede kwaliteit. Mijn gitaarleraar zei zelfs dat het eigenlijk gewoon net zo goed is als een "echte" Gibson (Epiphone is eigenlijk het 'B-merk' van Gibson).
Wat ik wel merk is dat ik af en toe een beetje volume mis. Ik speel eigenlijk alleen maar akoestisch, dus niet versterkt. Laat ik het zo zeggen: als je speelt en erbij zingt, dan kom je er makkelijk bovenuit zonder heel hard te zingen
Daarnaast vervang ik regelmatig de snaren. Dat is ook wel nodig, want anders wordt de klank toch wat snel dof. Maar dat ligt natuurlijk eerder aan de snaren dan aan de gitaar.
De gitaar blijft goed op stemming, is mooi afgewerkt, ziet er gewoon gaaf uit. Alles bij elkaar: Helemaal goed!
Wat ik wel merk is dat ik af en toe een beetje volume mis. Ik speel eigenlijk alleen maar akoestisch, dus niet versterkt. Laat ik het zo zeggen: als je speelt en erbij zingt, dan kom je er makkelijk bovenuit zonder heel hard te zingen
