Epiphone present an ode to an antique but with an attainable price in the elegant, square-shouldered dreadnought form of the Masterbilt Series Hummingbird. Every bit Inspired by Gibson. All of the delicious, vintage features have been retained, so you have an all-solid steel-string finished with a solid sitka spruce soundboard and supported by a mahogany back and sides and the snug feel of a round C-profile mahogany neck. This sensitive build guarantees full-range and rich acoustic sound with a warm timbre and noticeably enhanced resonance.
The bone nut and bridge saddle have a lot to do with the tone this acoustic guitar is able to produce, and since this is Ephiphone's electro-acoustic take on the classic Hummingbird, it comes loaded with the rightly popular Fishman Sonicore System. The natural sound is registered by a piezo pickup and sent to the integrated preamp, where the result can be tweaked using the provided volume and tone controls for natural amplified sound. While this is every bit the modern stage-ready guitar, you still get the vintage refinement of an engraved scratchplate, the comfort of a reverse belly-bridge, and the class of split-parallelogram fretboard inlays and a Kalamazoo-style headstock.
