Fender's acoustic guitars are excellent value for money. This CD-140SCE V2 in particular sounds, plays, and looks like a much more luxurious model. Its Dreadnought shape with mahogany sides and back offers plenty of volume and bass. The solid spruce top guarantees extra clarity and that sparkling, unmistakable Fender sound. Regardless of whether you play it 'au naturel' or amplified via the Fishman preamp, this affordable Fender CD-140SCE is worth its weight in gold!
CD-140SCE V2: luxurious appearance
The natural finish and tortoiseshell pickguard are just the beginning of this Fender CD-140SCE V2's complete make-over. The abalone sound hole rosette adds an elegant touch, and the rosewood bridge with compensated Graphtech NuBone saddles provides good intonation. The bridge pins have been given an aged look with black pins. Last but not least, the Fender logo on the headstock and the 3mm dot position markers on the neck really completes the classic look of this Dreadnought.
Fishman Presys preamp with tuner
Fender equipped the CD-140SCE with a Presys preamplifier by the well-known brand Fishman. This compact, advanced system offers you control over the volume and a 3-band equalizer (bass, mid and treble). Furthermore, there's also a phase control available so you can effectively counter unwanted noise or interference. For optimal usability, Fender has fitted the integrated preamp with a tuner and a bright LED display. The ingenious Fishman preamp design also makes it easy to replace batteries quickly when you need to.

Ik zocht een niet al te dure, maar wel redelijk klinkende el-ak gitaar, voor naast mijn elektrische gitaren (toch mijn hoofdinstrument). Wel een risico om het ongeprobeerd te bestellen, maar het retourneren is gratis, dus ik heb de gok gewaagd.
Onversterkt klinkt de gitaar, zeker voor deze prijs, prima. Dat zal ws. ook aan de solid top liggen. Mooie volle klank.
Versterkt via mijn Line 6 UX2 met Pod Farm 2.5 (ook via Bax gekocht, zeer tevreden over, zeker met een (2e hands) pedaal erbij!) Ik moest wel wat spelen met de instellingen. De eerst opname klonk wat kunstmatig, maar met wat spelen met de eq op de gitaar en een goede versterkersimulatie te kiezen, kreeg ik een acceptabel geluid. In ieder geval voor het doeleind waar ik het voor gebruik.
Over een ak. versterker (in onze kerk staat een Kustom - ik heb er zelf geen) klonk het al meteen acceptabel.
Voor een el-ak gitaar van nog geen 300 euro is dit een prima keuze. Het is geen Martin van 1000 euro, dus dat moet je niet verwachten. Maar toch, zeker als aanvulling, een prima gitaar.
* De Ibanez Talman gitaren staan onterecht als solid top gitaren op de site! Ik moest flink zoeken om dit te checken, maar de top bleek toch echt gelamineerd. Ik vond de TCY12 echt er supervet uitzien!
