Yamaha APX T2 BL Electro-Acoustic Travel Guitar (Black)

General

As a guitarist in heart and soul, you're going to want to bring your instrument with you everywhere. Guitars can take up a lot of room in a car though, and it can cost an arm and a leg to check them in as luggage at the airport. Luckily, Yamaha has the perfect solution in the form of this beautiful APX T2; a compact travel guitar edition of the popular APX Series of electro-acoustic guitars. It has the same looks, sound and feel, but in a handy smaller size. You also get a gig bag so it's easy to transport and stays protected. The APXT2 is available in four colours and this is the black edition.

Neck and Body of the Yamaha APX T2

Just like every Yamaha guitar, the APX T2 has a fantastic sound great playability thanks to its high-quality materials and finish. The sides and back of the body are fashioned from meranti, and the top is made of spruce. Nato has been used for the neck, which is equipped with a rosewood fretboard. The neck is attached to the body with a dovetail binding for maximum strength and stability while having a scale length of 580mm and a nut width of 43mm so that the APXT2 still feels like a full-size steel-string acoustic. Finally, the body is finished with a large cutaway for easy access to the highest of the 21 frets.

Electronics

The APXT2 is fitted with a new pickup system based on Yamaha's ART (Acoustic Resonance Transducer) contact-piezo. This is mounted to the top under the bridge, so the pure acoustic sound is naturally and optimally registered. Additionally, the guitar features a built-in preamplifier: the Yamaha System68. This can be found on the side of the body and is equipped with volume and tone control and a built-in tuner.
