General
Fender's F-1020SCE is the electro-acoustic version of the F-1020S. It's a Dreadnought model with a solid cedar top, a cutaway, a Fishman preamp and a Violin Sunburst finish. It's actually based on Fender's classic Dreadnought models from the '70s and therefore has a large headstock and a Viking-style bridge.

The cutaway on the F-1020SCE's Dreadnought body makes it easier to access the higher frets. SCE stands for Solid-top Cutaway Electric, which partly refers to this model's solid cedar top. Together with the large body, this ensures a sound with plenty of bass and warmth. For optimal playing comfort, the mahogany neck has a slim C profile.
Electronics and other details
It may be affordable, but that hasn't stopped Fender from giving the F-1020SCE a few special details. For instance, the headstock features a Fender logo inlay made of maple and there's an F inlay at the 12th fret made of the same material. The sound hole rosette also has an inlay, this time made of maple and mahogany. The string nut and the bridge saddle are both made of GraphTech Nubone, a synthetic material that is very similar to bone. Add to that the Fishman Isys III pickup/preamp that features a 3-band EQ as well as volume control and a tuner, and you have a guitar that is excellent value for money.
