General
The EF450C-TT is a striking instrument from the Thermal Top series by Takamine. It stands out from the rest due to its gorgeous Brown Sunburst finish that's accentuated elegantly by its white binding. The ebony fretboard is adorned with a Grass Flower inlay made up of hundreds of pieces of mother-of-pearl and abalone. Flamed maple was used for the sides and back, which not only looks amazing, but provides a crystal-clear tonal accent and plenty of volume to boot. The top has been treated with Takamine's revolutionary Thermal Top technology, which is what makes this brand-new steel-string guitar sound like an original from the previous century.
Thermal Top: a new instrument with a vintage sound
With the Thermal Top series, Takamine has introduced a range of acoustic guitars that consist of revolutionary technology. What's special about these models is the way their spruce tops have been prepared. First, the wood for the top is first baked in a low-oxygen vacuum, which lowers the humidity level to 0%. Next, the wood is hydrated again to about 6% and an age-simulating process is activated which forces its fibres closer together. The result is a more stable wood with improved tonal qualities.
Palathetic pickup and TLD-2 preamp
The compensated bridge saddle and the string nut also play a crucial role in this Takamine EF450C-TT's sublime tone and precise intonation. In order to amplify this sound as accurately as possible, this high-gloss dreadnought is equipped with a Palathetic piezo pickup and a TLC-2 Line Driver. Using the set-and-forget 3-band equalizer, you can fine-tune this Takamine steel-string guitar's amplified sound quality to perfection.
The new EF450C-TT electro-acoustic guitar utilises Takamine's Thermal Top technology, in which the spruce top is baked in a controlled oxygen-free vacuum. The result is a new instrument with the enticing sound characteristics of a vintage guitar!
