General

The body of the Takamine GN93CE-NAT electro-acoustic guitar has been topped with a solid soundboard and finished with deluxe materials and detailing, resulting in a stunning look and matching sound. The rounded shaping of the NEX body has been cut away at the lower shoulder to ease access to the higher frets to complete a light and easy playing feel, and since the GN93CE is fitted with a pickup and preamp system, this model is not only stage-worthy but studio-ready.

The Takamine GN93CE-NAT Electro-Acoustic

Courtesy of the outstanding resonance and bright accent of the solid spruce soundboard, you can expect lush and balanced acoustic sound, but the real star of this particular show is the backside, which has been constructed from two pieces of black walnut, shot through with a sumptuously complex slice of quilted maple. The mahogany neck is finished with a bound laurel fretboard with a modern 12 inch radius and a fast feel, while both the body and headstock have been bound in maple, striking a subtle colour contrast.

The Electronics

Plugged into an acoustic amplifier, PA, or audio interface the acoustic sound of the GN93CE comes into its own. Besides a volume control, the extensive integrated TK-40D preamp offers detailed three-band EQ controls for shaping a fully personalised on-stage sound. To pull out an even more prominent punch and rounder attack in the amplified sound, the mid-frequencies at around the 400Hz mark can be given a boost using the Mid Contour, while the Notch filter can be used to effectively counter feedback.
