The Yamaha APX500III in Oriental Blue Burst is on of the most uniquely finished guitars from the affordable APX500 line. This electro-acoustic guitar is equipped with a spruce top, and finished with the beautiful blue sunburst finish you see here. Additionally, it features black sides and back, along with stylish white bindings along the neck and body. The body of the APX500III Oriental Blue Burst

If we take a look at the body of the APX500III, we'll see that it features a shape very similar to the triple-O. Yamaha calls this version an APX body, and it is not only more compact than the common dreadnought model, but it's also a few centimetres thinner. The result is a guitar that is remarkably easy to hold. The smaller size also impacts the sound, offering the guitarist a direct tone with an incredibly bright timbre, thanks to the spruce top. In the middle of the body you'll also notice the special APX sound hole, which is responsible for the rich mid-frequencies and outspoken lows.

If you invest in an electro-acoustic guitar like the APX500III, then you're definitely going to want to check out its performance when hooked up to an acoustic amplifier, mixing console or external sound card. You guitar playing is picked up in great detail by the piezo pickup, and then sent to the System 66 preamplifier, which you'll find on the side of your guitar. With this preamp - which is, by the way, equipped with a tuner - you can adjust the impressively powerful signal via the 3-band EQ to find the perfect timbre, and you can use the handy AMF switch to reduce acoustic feedback.
