General

When it comes to electro-acoustic guitars, Yamaha's got a knack for them. Their APX series is known around the world and is used by beginners and professionals across genres. The APX T2 is based on these popular guitars but comes in a compact size, making it the ideal travel guitar for the road. To make it even easier, this guitar is also equipped with a handy gig bag so you can keep it safe, clean and protected wherever the road may take you. Available in four colours, this is the natural edition.

Construction of the Yamaha APX T2

This small travel guitar has the same characteristics as its larger APX counterparts including an elegant rounded shape, slim design, an oval soundhole and a large cutaway so you can easily reach the highest frets. The body of the APXT2 is made of meranti and the top is made of spruce. The nato neck has a 43mm wide nut and is glued into the body with the dovetail binding and finished with a 21-fret rosewood fretboard with small, elegant position markers. It also has a scale length of 580mm, making the neck the same size as that of a full-sized guitar.

Electronics

The APXT2 is fitted with a new pickup system based on Yamaha's ART (Acoustic Resonance Transducer) contact piezo. The pickup is mounted to the top under the bridge, so the pure acoustic sound is naturally and optimally registered. Additionally, the guitar features a built-in preamplifier: the Yamaha System68, which can be found on the side of the body and is equipped with volume and tone controls and a built-in tuner.
