General
The Yamaha HSS5W is an active studio monitor with a sleek white finish. This white version of the Yamaha HS5 is the smallest monitor from the HS series, making it ideal for use in your AV, home or project studio, or even for a mobile setup. These monitors feature a neutral, open sound to give you a lot of detail.
Yamaha HS 5W: Bi-amped
The detailed sound reproduction is largely due to the fact that Yamaha has equipped this monitor with a bi-amp system, which enhances the high and low frequencies separately. The 5-inch woofer is powered by a 45W amplifier and has a frequency range of up to 2 kHz. The higher frequencies are accounted for by the tweeter, which are then sent through a 25W amplifier. On the back of the monitor you'll find Room Control and High Trim functions for adjusting the sound to fit your setting perfectly.

Oi oi oi... Wat zijn deze monitoren geweldig voor muziekproductie!
Ikzelf maak hardere EDM (hardstyle / hardcore) en mijn tracks hebben nog nooit zó gebalanceerd en vol geklonken.
De nadrukkelijke mening(en) die mij is / zijn bijgebleven, na wat reviews gekeken te hebben, luidt:
'These speakers are unforgiving. If your mix ain't right, these speakers will tell you.'
Boy oh boy, wat hadden deze mensen gelijk! Deze speakers tillen je muziekproductie écht naar een volgend niveau. Na mijn KRK Rokit 6 -Gen3 die plots gebrom gaven (iets met de zwarte lijm las ik), is dit écht een verademing. Ik kan nu voor het laag, ondanks dat sub bass mist in deze Yamaha HS5's, erg goed de waveform van mijn kickdrums horen. Essentieel om de kicks passend te maken bij de rest van je mix / productie en hem écht vol te laten klinken. Om de bass nog wat te corrigeren, gebruik ik wel nog mijn headset om het niet te laten overheersen.
Ik kan niet anders zeggen dan dat ik deze monitoren maximaal aanraad voor jullie (hobby / professional) producers.
Ook casual luisteren naar muziek is heel tof. Boven verwachting totaalpakket!

Qua prijs/kwaliteit-verhouding kan je hiermee niet missen!
De monitors geven een helder en zuiver geluid waarbij je met de optie High Trim en Room Control (op de achterkant van de monitors) de hoge en lage frequenties eventueel nog kan bijwerken naar eigen voorkeur.
Ik gebruik deze monitors om te mixen en raad wel aan om hierbij een kleine subwoofer aan te schaffen zodat de lage frequenties er beter doorkomen en je een nog duidelijker beeld van je mix krijgt.
Al bij al een topproduct!
De monitors geven een helder en zuiver geluid waarbij je met de optie High Trim en Room Control (op de achterkant van de monitors) de hoge en lage frequenties eventueel nog kan bijwerken naar eigen voorkeur.

Prima near field monitor met voldoende laagweergave en helder klankbeeld. Het vermogen is meer dan voldoende. Voor betere laagweergave zou ik de HS7 of HS8 adviseren.of een externe sub.
