This TD-1KPX drum kit from the popular V-Drums series by Roland is a compact, electronic kit with excellent sounds and a coach function so you can perfect your technique. The TD-1 module is easy to use, without any endless scroll menus! This kit's mesh drum heads keep the noise to a minimum and enhance playing comfort as well. When you're not playing it, you can even easily fold the TD-1KPX without having to dismantle the kit completely. When collapsed, you can simply store the whole thing in the broom closet. Roland has been kind enough to include a sturdy gig bag with this kit, which weighs just 15 kilos. It's a great set for beginners and advanced drummers alike who want to practise at home!
Roland TD-1KPX: easy to set up and dismantle
Building up this drum kit for the first time requires a bit of work. Once the rack and the pads are in place, however, it's a piece of cake to set this kit up and dismantle it for storage or transport. Then, all you need to do is fold the pads into the rack and unscrew the bass drum pedal. You can dismantle this kit in only two minutes! When collapsed, the TD-1KXP is a very compact 415 x 610 x 750 mm package. When set up, it measures only 1000 x 1200 x 1250 mm, which doesn't take up a lot of space either.
V-Pad mesh heads for snare and toms
The 8-inch PDX-8 (snare) and 6.5-inch PDX-6 (toms) V-Pads in this set have mesh heads, which have a variety of advantages. For starters, they offer a natural rebound so it feels like you're playing on an acoustic drum head. Plus, they produce less noise than hard rubber or plastic pads found on some kits. The V-Pads all have dual-triggers and can translate your strokes with great accuracy. You can even play rim clicks and rim shots on the PDX-8 pad for the snare drum. The CY-5 cymbal pads also have two triggers: one in the bow and one on the edge. Is your downstairs neighbour still giving you dirty looks? It might have to do with the bass drum pedal, which can produce a low-frequency thumping sound. If that's the case, you can replace the bass drum trigger pad with a trigger pedal like the KT-9 or KT-10 (sold separately). The last picture shows a drum kit with a trigger pedal. If you want to amplify this set, we recommend pairing it with the PM-10 monitor!
