General
The Yamaha DTX430K digital drum set from the attractive entry-level DTX400 series goes a step further than the DTX400K, the simplest model. The DTX430K is equipped with the newly-designed rubber drum pads as well as the DTX400 drum module with 169 high-quality sounds and 10 interactive practise functions. A real mechanical bass drum pedal and advanced hi-hat pedal that supports the half-open technique help to make this a truly remarkable drum set.
The Yamaha DTX-430K: reliable and complete
Yamaha values reliability and functionality, and we can see those standards illustrated in the DTX400 series. This set offers the beginner a complete standard set-up for an excellent price. The solid-steel rack contains a snare drum, a hi-hat, two toms, a floor tom, a crash cymbal and a ride cymbal in addition to a hi-hat controller and bass drum trigger and pedal located on the bottom.
Learn tight playing
The sound module from the Yamaha DTX 430K is equipped with many practise functions. One of the 10 interactive programs is the Groove Check, which lets you know how precisely your strokes coincide with the beat. Another way to learn tight playing is with the Rhythm Gate, which only lets you hear sound when strokes on the drums or cymbals are correctly timed. The Measure Break silences the metronome after every few beats so you can check whether you're keeping a good tempo.
Connections and extensions
Connect either your headphones or an optional drum monitor to the drum module, and you are ready to get started. The audio input allows you to play along with songs from your MP3 player, and the USB connector enables you to load other MIDI songs and to control VST drum sounds in an optional sequencer (such as Cubase) on your computer. The DTX430K drum set can be expanded and improved with a 3-zone snare (see the DTX450K).
Tips or comments about this product
- This drum set requires a surface of approximately 1 by 1 metre.
- You can use 'regular' drum sticks to play a digital drum set. In digital drumming, the shape of the tip of your drum sticks is of lesser importance. We do, however, recommend that you use a wooden tip, as it does not leave as many marks.
- Via the Yamaha website you can download a Pad/Module Compatibility Table that shows you the compatibility between all of Yamaha's pads/cymbals and sound modules.
