There are so many electronic kits out there, it can sometimes be tough to see the woods for the billions of trees. But, if you're simply looking for a solid and complete practice buddy, then you're unlikely to go wrong with the Fazley DDK-080 electronic kit. Designed with beginner drummers in mind, this electronic kit provides all of the components you'll need to get to grips with your first ever beats and rolls. The module packs no less than 329 drum sounds and 15 pre-configured kits to get you started, with a further 10 custom kits that you can put together yourself, 10 songs to play along with, and an adjustable click track to help you tighten up and hone your skills. Since it comes fitted with a 128 by 64 pixel LCD display screen, the module menu can be navigated with ease and clarity, so you can hook up your headphones or some speakers and start drilling those paradiddles.

The Fazley DDK-080 Electronic Drum Kit

The five-piece construction of the DDK-080 is made up of a hi-hat, crash, and ride, each with a 10" diameter and a single-zone trigger; and a snare drum and three toms, each with a 9" diameter and dual zone triggers. Each cymbal pad boasts a choke function, meaning that after you strike a cymbal with your stick, you can dampen the sound with your hand - just like you would with an acoustic cymbal. Two pedals also come included: one for the kick and one for the hi-hat, both of which are fitted with an internal trigger, and the benefit of playing with these kinds of pedal is that they make much less noise since they don't actually 'hit' anything. The snare and toms are just as considerate in terms of noise, as they come finished with mesh-heads, which are not only quieter than standard pads but have a similar rebound response to the heads of an acoustic kit. A collapsible frame also comes as part of the pack to neatly mount the components and built your kit, and once assembled, this electronic kit is compact enough to fit in the corner of the bedroom.
