Traditionally (at least, how many look at it), Eurorack is a system containing miniscule components that together can form a complex synth. Put all your oscillators, filters, envelopes, etc. as separate modules, piece by piece in a frame, and that's how you make a monster synth. But then, how many components would you need to cobble together a decent sample-player? The 1010music bitbox MK2 eurorack module is then a nice solution. Quite a comprehensive system; with a nice colour screen, built-in effects, a microSD slot for your samples and even granular synthesis and slicing capabilities. In terms of polyphony, you get 24 stereo voices from its own RAM (64 MB), or eight stereo streams coming from a microSD card.

Now why would you want a modern product like a complete sampler specifically in a Eurorack construction? Isn't the whole idea of Eurorack to build a synth with small components? Well, opinions may differ on that. However, where you can see a convincing purpose in it is 'using all kinds of Eurorack constructions to "gate" trigger the samples. Then you use your Eurorack more as something compositional than something in terms of sound design. And there are plenty of those possibilities, considering what sequencers and arpegiators are available.
