General

Many ADSR envelopes are fairly basic, and that's often enough. But the experimental nature of eurorack forces sound designers to come up with adventurous ideas, and that in turn triggers manufacturers to make eurorack modules that have just a bit more to offer. The Erica Synths Black EG2 eurorack module looks fairly familiar at first sight; an ADSR with gate and output. But that gate is exactly what makes this module special; normally, such a gate signal represents a pressed key, where releasing the key triggers the R-phase (release). With this module, you can set the gate time. So even with a short keystroke, a longer duration comes out before the release is triggered. So if you use the envelope in loop mode, you can hear an entire ADSR instead of a simple AD while running. Like other modules in the Black line-up, this one is also extremely robust and a professional addition to your eurorack wall - some have quite a wall by now.
