General
Apogee has made the world of high-end audio interfaces more accessible than ever before with the release of the Element 24. This interface was designed for independent musicians who don't need to use more than two inputs at a time. The Element 24 features the very best from the Symphony, Ensemble and Groove series when it comes to conversion and preamps. Even so, this is a no-frills kind of interface, and as such, all you'll see are two inputs on the front of the device. This approach might seem minimalistic but, together with the outstanding software, you really have all you need.
High-grade sound quality
The Element 24 is equipped with the renowned Advanced Stepped Gain Architecture. This is an analogue circuit designed to dynamically optimise the gain stage and it results is a gain of no less than 75 dB, which is particularly high for a built-in preamp. The circuit also works to minimise distortion to provide a superior bandwidth. You'll find that the D/A conversion is of the best quality, which translates into defined audio production that's easier to adjust.
Clocking and advanced software
A word clock can be compared to a conductor in an orchestra. All of the parts of the digital chain in the conversion process (from analogue to digital and vice versa) should be perfectly synchronised. The Element 24 is equipped with its own clock source, and as such can synchronise both in-coming and out-going digital audio devices. Not only that, you can tweak the Element 24 down to the tiniest detail with the help of the excellent Element control App. You can manage all of your inputs and outputs, plus make up to three independent monitor mixes with the app.
