Purchased this as a portable interface to have around the house away from my destlk when making music on my laptop. Very happy with the quality of the sound and the XENYX preamp. Nice bit of kit I now prefer it to my main pcs alesis multimix 4... And it also has better quality sound than the alesis.

Behringer U-PHORIA UM2 USB Audio Interface

Very easy to set up. Works straight out of the box and does exactly what it says with no unpleasant surprises. I was worried about the plastic case but it's actually quite well made.

Mic preamp is very transparent with no added colouration. The clip indicator light helps in adjusting the gain.

The headphone amp is surprisingly good quality. It's up there with actual entry level HiFi headphone amps from FiiO etc. The measurements from Julian Krause on Youtube seem to back this up.

One downside is that the direct monitoring level cannot be adjusted - it's either on or off. Another thing to note is that there's only 1 volume knob that controls both the headphone and pre-out at the same time, which may or may not be desirable.

In summary I can't believe they can sell it at such a low price - it's even cheaper than buying a similar product from China.

Behringer U-PHORIA UM2 USB Audio Interface

It's a very good tool for people interested in a small home-studio that don't really want to spend a lot but pursue quality. Behringer also gives you the Tracktion DAW licence so if you're into creating your own music this is an amazing deal. I can recommend this UM2, the drivers work fine (ASIO). I have latency but it's very low and it really depends on many settings. You can monitor with no latency so it'll do.
