The WS-FL211S is a C flute with 16 keys and an offset G key. It has a lovely silver-plated finish for a nice touch of class, so you can study in style.

Maar... ja natuurlijk is er ook een maar. De kwaliteit van de mechanieken is niet 'top'. Logisch voor deze prijsklasse, maar dan bedoel ik ook vriendelijk niet 'top'. Het probleem is hetzelfde als met goedkope fietsen e.d. Zolang alles doet wat het moet doen, is er niets aan de hand. Maar op het moment dat er iets niet meer goed werkt (een slecht sluitende klep is onacceptabel, zoals ik heb ervaren) ben je vaak méér geld kwijt aan relatief dure reparaties. En echt, dit kun je doorgaans beter overlaten aan een ervaren reparateur (á x per uur).
Bax-Shop draait niet louter op de verkoop van dit product (gelukkig maar, want hun core-business zit vooral in moderne muzikantenspullen). Zodat de vraag blijft of het sowieso een goed idee is om deze 'made in China' producten te (ver-)kopen zonder ondersteunende reparatie-afdeling. Daarom is het zeker te overwegen om ook eens over een tweedehands dwarsfluit na te denken. Voor pakweg 200-300 heb je al een degelijke Trevor James, een Gemeinhardt, Pearl of een Armstrong.
