General

The 2014 Fender F series commemorates the original F-series Dreadnoughts from the seventies. The F-1030SCE was largely inspired by its vintage predecessors but was fitted with several modern upgrades. Some of its distinctively authentic features include the large headstock and the classic Viking-style bridge. This model has a solid cedar top fitted to sides and back of rosewood. In order to be able to amplify the F-1030SCE, Fender equipped it with a built-in high-quality Fishman pickup/preamp system.

Construction and details of the Fender F-1030SCE

Like the seventies original, the F-1030SCE features a large dreadnought body that produces a full, warm, deep tone with sweet, defined trebles aided by the rosewood and the solid cedar top. The C-profile neck has a comfortable grip and features a 20-fret rosewood fretboard. Additionally, the body and neck of the F-1030SCE have subtle, tasteful genuine maple bindings and an elegant matte lacquer.

Details and electronics

Judging by its luxurious details, you wouldn't have guessed that this is a budget-friendly guitar. The Fender logo on the headstock of the F-1030SCE and the 'F' next to the 12th fret are maple inlays. Around the sound hole, there's a graceful rosette of maple and mahogany. GraphTech NuBone was made for the string nut and the bridge saddle. Fender equipped the F-1030SCE with the Fishman Presys pickup/preamp system with a 3-band EQ, a phase button to reduce feedback, a volume control and a built-in tuning device.
