The Yamaha CPX700II is a black electro-acoustic western guitar with a special, full sound and rich lows. When you connect this jumbo model to a PA mixer or acoustic guitar amplifier, you'll get the same clear, warm character that you hear in the original acoustic tone. The tone colour can be fine-tuned with the built-in 3-band equalizer and AMF mid-frequency control. Amplified with a System64 amplifier, it also features a built-in tuner with display that makes it easy to tune quickly and easily when you play live with your CPX700II. All of these fantastic features combine to give you a beautiful-sounding reliable Yamaha instrument excellently suited for the advanced guitarist.
Because the CPX-700II has an exceptionally round and broad body, the low frequencies have more room to resonate, giving the guitar a higher volume and deeper bass tones. The powerful volume also has what might be the most important feature of this guitar to thank: the solid top. This solid top means the guitar body vibrates optimally, and because it's made of spruce, this results in a powerful, balanced and clear sound. The body also features a cutaway, making it easy to reach the highest fret.
Of course an electro-acoustic guitar like the CPX700 II is built for top performance on-stage. For this reason, Yamaha chose to mount the pickup to the top of the guitar, rather than to the bridge. Because the pickups are responsible for sending sound to the preamp, this ideal placement means it doesn't send dry string tones but rather the rich sounds from the jumbo body. The result is that the guitar sound you hear from the speakers still has the same original warm acoustic tone.
