General

Billy Gibbons is responsible for some of the most notoriously dirty fuzz sounds and the BFG07 Siete Santos Octavio Fuzz, created in collaboration with Dunlop, is no exception. The octave fuzz is initially based on the JHM6 Jimi Hendrix classic which was built to emulate Jimi's Purple Haze sound. In addition to this, the honourable Willie G. has slapped in a 7-band EQ, otherwise known as the 'holy seven' (siete santos) capable of a 100 Hz to 6.4 kHz range that can be increased or decreased by 18 dB, giving a precise polish to your sound. All of this is crammed into a classically designed Maestro Fuzz-Tone-like package with a cool 'pinstripe Billy' drawing on top. So, put on your suit and with a peso in hand, tear it up like a hot rod!

MXR Present Dookie Drive, Billy Gibbons Fuzz + Dunlop Jerry Cantrell Wah

Monday 28 January 2019 By Richard | Bax Music

MXR recently collaborated with some well-known artists to design some new pedals. In the case of the DD25 Dookie Drive that was Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day. For the BFG07 Siete Santos Octavio Fuzz they enlisted the help of Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top. Not to be outdone, Dunlop worked with Jerry Cantrell from Alice In Chains to create the JC95B Cry Baby Wah.
